News from South Moreton Primary School

Our Nativity this year is on Wednesday 10th December at 2pm and Thursday 11th at 6pm. Members of the local community are warmly invited to the afternoon performance.

The Astons and Moretons Community Choir, accompanied by the South Moreton School choir, will be performing a selection of seasonal songs on Monday 15th December in North Moreton Church at 6pm. This will be the choir’s last concert under the direction of their current musical director, Mark Stanley. All welcome. Donations will be collected in aid of local charities.

Finally, for anyone in the community who knows Mrs Susan Gopall and wishes to join her for a farewell cup of tea and cake on Friday 12th December at 2:30pm, you would be most welcome. Please contact the school office on 01235 813110 or office.2566@south-moreton.oxon.sch.uk and let them know, so we have an idea of numbers.

Make the most of an extra garden waste collection

Harsher weather is coming and residents might want to get one last bit of gardening in before winter really takes hold.
Good news – South Oxfordshire District Council is offering existing garden waste customers an extra large brown bin collection during the week of 27 October.  So, if they have got extra branches and brambles that simply won’t fit in their brown bin, garden waste customers can put out one extra bins’ worth of garden waste in sacks or reusable bags on their usual collection day – they just need to make sure they’re open so the crew can see what’s in there.
